Epoka University (www.epoka.edu.al) was established and is owned by the Turgut Özal Education Institution, which has also established and operated the much-acclaimed system of Turkish education in Albania since 1992, and now is one of best national leading private research universities and in the mid-term, aims at becoming one of the best universities in the region. Epoka currently offers Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees taught completely in English, in 13 different programs within two faculties namely Architecture and Engineering and Economics and Administrative Sciences. Epoka is a signatory of Magna Charta Universitatum and is a member of International Association of Universities. Currently Epoka have 157 staff members and the number of Bachelor students is 1,144, while the number of graduate students is 341. With staff that has extensive international experience, we have developed highly innovative approaches to active and reflective learning with extensive use of ICT in delivery. The programs offered are developed in response to demand in the market.
In line with its objective of being a research-oriented institution, Epoka University has been the first of the very few private HEIs in Albania to have benefited from the TEMPUS program FP7, COST, Jean Monnet, etc, and it aims at substantially increasing its participation within the short-term in projects financed by other EU programs such as the Horizon 2020, Marie Curie, etc.

The Faculty of Architecture and Engineering is one of two Faculties in Epoka University which was established in 2007. The Faculty includes three Departments: Architecture, Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering, and is offering programs in Bachelor, Master of Science and Professional Master, as well as Doctorate studies. The Faculty is trying to determine its position as a leader in innovation and excellence in the fields of engineering and architecture through education and research by reflecting its social responsibility. The Faculty promotes a strong focus on inter-disciplinary research in high-interest and impact areas as perceived by governments and industry as follows: Metaheuristics, Computer Vision, Structural Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Sustainability (Energy efficiency in buildings, Building and Urban Physics, Urban Heat Islands), Landscape Research, Restoration and Renovation, Urban Design, Architectural Design (Architectural Theory, Criticism, New Paradigms).
